Asbestos Removal and Disposal

Removal to clearance, without derailing the programme

Overview

Asbestos is one of the most common causes of programme delays. Once it's been identified, work stops, areas are closed, licensed contractors must be arranged, and notification periods push the programme back until it's removed and disposed of properly.

“Work stops, the area is closed off… and everything behind it on the programme slides.”

We manage asbestos from removal through to disposal and clearance, nationwide, integrated into the wider job so it doesn't become a separate, disruptive contract.

01

What we handle

  • Removal: Licensed work, notifiable non licensed work and non licensed removal under correct controls.
  • Common materials: Asbestos cement (roof sheets, cladding, gutters), insulation and lagging, AIB, textured coatings, floor tiles, bitumen.
  • Soil & made ground: Identification, segregation and removal of asbestos containing materials.
  • Disposal: Licensed, compliant disposal routes for every material type, with full documentation.
  • Encapsulation: When removal isn't required, material can be safely sealed and managed at lower cost.
02

Removal isn't always necessary

Asbestos in good condition, not at risk of disturbance, and properly recorded can often be managed rather than removed, saving time and money.

Encapsulation, labelling and a management plan can be the correct decision…

Where demolition or refurbishment is planned, removal becomes essential. We advise honestly which applies and provide written confirmation for insurers and duty holders.

03

Compliance done properly

Asbestos work is tightly regulated. We ensure:

  • Correct notification periods built into the programme
  • Proper enclosures, controls and monitoring
  • Independent air testing and four stage clearance
  • Full waste documentation: double bagging, labelling, consignment notes
04

Integrated into the programme

Asbestos is rarely the whole job, it's the obstacle to the job. Because we also handle demolition, earthworks, contaminated soil and waste, removal and disposal is planned from the start:

  • Removal booked in ahead of mobilisation
  • Notification periods run while other work continues
  • Removal slots into the sequence
  • Demolition follows immediately after
